Before I started working on this collection I’d just finished reading a book called living modern, which was made for an exhibition of Georgia O'keeffe's art and clothing.
Her work has a meditative quality that I identify with. There’s a constant searching and questioning of form, abstraction and color. When I design, I’m never starting with a blank slate, I continue following a train of thought. Everything hinges in some way on whatever came before it.
this collection puts textiles first. I played with fringing and manipulating wool into patterns. A lot of time was spent drawing the different uses for printed textile elements, This collection was hand selected by The director of my school's fashion program, Simon Ungless, to participate in the CFDA design competition.
